Bathing is Back
and Better than Ever

Thousands of years ago in ancient Rome, bathing wasn't just something people did to get clean. It was a social activity that played a huge role in their daily lives. Men and women alike would spend hours at the bath houses, sharing stories about their daily lives and bathing in pools of various temperatures.

Fast forward to 2005 and relaxation, unfortunately, isn't quite as big a part of today's hectic lives; but those who soak in a bath regularly still consider it one of the most pleasurable personal rituals of the day. And it's also beneficial.

Numerous studies have shown that taking a bath daily helps reduce stress, relieves muscle pain and spasms, and improves circulation. It also promotes physical and mental relaxation, rest and a feeling of well-being.

Jean Kolb says she can attest to that. "I'm either on my feet or working on the computer all day, and often come home from work tired and stressed. After a 15- minute soak in the tub, I'm relaxed and refreshed."
